Coach Jesper Gjerloev

Jesper was born in Denmark Europe and his soccer philosophy is a product of the Danish soccer education. It can be summarized by the use of the term used worldwide about the spectacular Danish World Cup team from 1986 "the European Brazilians". This term indicates a unification of the organization seen in northern European teams and the technique of the Brazilians. Despite being a country of only 5 million Denmark won the European Championships in 1992 beating France, Holland and Germany.

Jesper believes that the foundation of a successful soccer player is based on four corner-stones: 1) Love of the game; 2) Technique; 3) Understanding; 4) Physical ability.

Any practice must seek to develop each of the points 2 through 4. If this is done in a fun supportive atmosphere the kids will develop the most important cornerstone - love of the game. Jesper's coaching philosophy is based on this understanding. A successful practice is when the players insist on continuing.

Jesper played select soccer his entire childhood on very successful teams winning high profile tournaments. He continues to play in various outdoor and indoor recreational leagues. Jesper currently holds a National Level D License, has taken MSYSA license classes, and coached for 7 years.
